Rebecca Schillemat has been the Executive Officer for the Peterborough and the Kawarthas Home Builders' Association since 2021. Rebecca is very excited to be living and working back in Peterborough. Rebecca and her husband have owned a house in Peterborough for 8 years but only got to live in it for 3. Rebecca attended Trent University and decided to stay in Peterborough after graduating. She worked for Peterborough and the Kawarthas Association of Realtors for 5 years, where she learned a lot about the amazing Peterborough business community and how to make volunteering with PKAR easier for busy Realtors. Rebecca then transitioned to teaching business communications at Fleming College, then her husband joined the Canadian Armed Forces and they moved their family to Vancouver Island. While in BC, Rebecca taught business administration at a career college, along with computers, communications and accounting. Lastly, she also worked with a special needs student as an educational assistant and volunteered with a few military organizations.
