The City of Peterborough is looking to hire a Planning, Development & Urban Design Director to join their dynamic team.
Located on the Trent-Severn Waterway in the heart of the Kawartha tourism region, Peterborough is a unique community known for its exceptional quality of life and beautiful setting. Reporting to the Infrastructure and Planning Services Commissioner, the Director works closely with Council, City leadership and management, staff, the development community, and other varied stakeholders, and is critical in setting and driving an innovative vision for sustainable planning, development, urban design, and planning policy and research, as well as for the economic health and cultural vibrancy of the City. Champions projects to support the City's strategic planning, development and urban growth priorities. A key team contributor, the Director provides innovative, strategic, and professional development advice, along with facilitating future development strategy. The Director must champion excellence in urban design, ensuring all future development supports a quality urban realm. Partnering with community stakeholders and internal partners, the Director liaises with all levels of government, municipal agencies, the land development industry, and the public to represent the city, build business relationships, and promote the City's vision.
Technical Competencies:
$128,129 - $140,056 (Pay scale is currently under review)
